MAS is very skilled in repair and retrofitting of our own or competitors equipment.
We have the capability to repair or rebuild damaged or worn-out fans. We take
the required measurements and performance criteria from the existing system to produce a
fan that meets the dimensional and performance requirements of the customer.
Complete Field Service
MAS offers a full service Field Service Department for fan startup and
trouble shooting through our Pittsburgh service group and a nationwide network of contract
shops. MAS can provide state of the art equipment for in field alignment, balancing
and analysis. Our field service personnel have years of field training combined with
specialized schooling to keep up to date on the latest techniques and can assist our
customers with MAS or any competitors fan.
Engineering Analysis
MAS can assist customers in finding the cause of difficult or reoccurring fan problems
that normal field service cannot solve. Our experience plus engineering ability
combine for a theoretical and practical analysis of the problem to determine the cause.
We assist our customers with bearing analysis, stress analysis, shaft critical
speed, resonant speed, thermal effect and other factors that can cause fan problems.
MAS can test fan assemblies to the extent possible. (Picture: 65" BC Fan Assembly, 600Hp motor - test run in MAS shop using
customer VFD and rented Diesel generator.) In-house prototype tests
following AMCA guidelines are routinely done on new designs or specific jobs
for performance verification. AMCA certified testing is done in a
certified lab.
